The Dreamer

If I could choose one quote to sum up everything I want to accomplish in my life, it would be, “When I grow up, I either want everybody to know my name or to know everybody’s name.” I don’t know exactly what it means yet. But it’s one of the truest things I’ve ever said.

My name is Bryan Chabrow. I’m 18 years old. And I am a dreamer.

Although I am young, I’ve had a love affair with words for as long as I can remember and I am doing all I can to make a name for myself in the literary world. As far as accomplishments go, I’ve been lucky enough to have a few great opportunities. Recently, I wrote and directed a one-act play that advanced to the regional level of competition and was performed in Roanoke, Virginia. I’ve also had poetry published in journals ranging from The Susquehanna University Apprentice Writer to The Commonline Project. Songwriting is my passion though, and I’ve had the chance to work with some fantastic and talented bands that have brought my lyrics to life in ways that I never imagined. I’m still a kid and have a long way to go, but I’m incredibly grateful for all of the things that I’ve been able to do and I plan on writing regardless of where I end up in life.

If I were to say that I’m inspired by everything that goes on around me, it would be a true statement. Although I’d feel more original if I took time to mention some of the things that move me. Charles Bukowski and Pete Wentz are two writers who continually amaze me and inspire me to keep putting pen to paper. But friends, family, females, hook-ups, late nights, long drives, cliches, and music are just a few examples of things that move me.

Although writing is one of the things that I connect with most in life, I’m involved in numerous other things. I am very fond of theater and have been acting for ten years. Also, I was recently named Class Clown of 2008 at Stonewall Jackson High School. I enjoy going on dates with cute girls, a night spent with good friends, interesting conversation, and driving with the windows down. I like to make every day worthwhile and I laugh whenever I get the chance. When I’m old and look back at my life I want to feel like I made the most of my time.

At the moment I reside in Manassas, Virginia with my parents and two dogs. In the fall I will be attending Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts and I’m ecstatic to start my life up there.

Thanks for taking the time to read this long, rambling excuse for a biography. Keep living and keep dreaming.
